Fatal attraction

I never knew that cockroaches were caffeine fiends. A jar, some coffee grounds, a little water and you have the perfect eco-friendly cockroach trap. They can't resist it.

Three corners, one intersection, Mission area, San Francisco. This city is like Wellington - on a good day, you can't beat it.

Creativity Explored

Creativity Explored, San Francisco, is described as a nonprofit visual arts center where artists with developmental disabilities create, exhibit, and sell art. It was great to be able to look through the studio where the artists were at work.

Sylvia Ji in San Francisco

Our first night in San Francisco coincided with the opening of Sylvia Ji's show at White Walls gallery. Sylvia was present and kindly posed for a photograph.

Chinatown

This is the new hip hop and happening area for art galleries in LA. I liked it - even the Bank of America (bottom right) fits right in.

LACMA

Back in LA looking at a whole lot more art. The Los Angeles County Museum of Art is so worth a visit. These pics just show a little of what was on view outside. I really enjoyed seeing all the Jeff Koons, Warhols, Damien Hirsts, Leon Golubs and Cindy Shermans, as collected by the Broads. There was also a great show by Philip-Lorca diCorcia and we made it to the tail end of his talk to a packed auditorium. Let me pass on a quote: "I was always making pictures about somebody but not the person in the photograph".
