Thermostat exhibitions

Last night was the opening of my show 'Games for Grown-ups' at Thermostat Gallery in Palmerston North, alongside Andrea Gardner's show 'Co-existence'. Included here are a photo of myself and Andrea in front of a couple of her stunning photographs, David and Simon in front of some of my photos, also me and my lovely neice Sidonie, and at the top here is the old United Friendly Society boardroom, where I have incorporated an installation work (photo courtesy Jes-ci Nagra).
There was a good crew at the opening with people travelling from Wellington, Otaki and of course, Wangavegas, and a big group of us went for an Indian meal afterwards. Thanks Thermostat for making it all happen!

More things happening

There was heaps going on over the Easter weekend - some new places opening up, some parties, some short films projected onto the Sarjeant Gallery ... and someone performing as a live sculpture ....

Open studio weekend

Easter weekend featured Artist's Open Studios in Whanganui and there were hundreds of people constantly coming through looking. It was pretty intense. As Matt's and my studios are central and there are a number of other artists in our building, we had a lot of visitors. And as Daniel Clifford was down from Auckland (previous occupier of Matt's space) he showed his glasswork also. And here I'm wearing my hand-stitched 'Hausfrau' top from the newly opened Refresh in Drews Ave.

Karen Hunter at Stellar

My friend Karen Hunter is part-way through a national tour coinciding with the release of her new CD 'Rubble'. She charmed the locals at Stellar here in Whanganui last weekend with her passionate performance.
