Bollywood Special

We went out for dinner to celebrate Peter's birthday at the famous Bollywood restaurant in Whanganui last night. I have to recommend this dessert - a very solid mango icecream with gulab jamen (spelling?) on top!

Dogs and Dodos

Last night we went to the opening of two shows at Thermostat: Catherine Macdonald's "where the line was drawn" and Kirsty Porter's "The Last Dodo and the Retaliation Army". There are some nice connections between the two shows. Kirsty has constructed a painted mythology featuring the last dodo and other characters. Catherine has made delicate drawings reconstructing events in her neighbourhood featuring dogs and horses even.

House relocation

Sandra Schmidt's show in the Michael Hirschfield space at City Gallery, Wellington has just opened. This only gives you a little taste but the show is well worth checking out as Sandra is creating some intriguing works in a variety of mediums.
