This seems like a good image going into a new year full of unknown possibilities. Hope you all have a good one.

Comet and I went exploring further around Gonville and came across an empty softball park.

evening walk in Gonville

I like the crazy way the camera deals with low light.

Cemetary Circuit

I apologise to all the racing fans out there but I went to visit my Dad rather than go trackside at the Cemetary Circuit. But there were lots of nice bikes to look at parked up outside by the spectators.

Happy Blogging Birthday to Me

Well, it's been exactly a year since I started this photo blog and now that I have a sitemeter I know that some of you lovely people out there are actually taking the time to view it. So thanks, and if you have any special requests, drop me an email (my address is at bottom of page).
In honour of this special occasion, I am wearing some of my current faves from artist/designer friends: tee shirt by Jo Ockey, skirt by Janet Dunn and the ring on a chain round my neck is 'The Rock' by Bek Coogan.
All going well, another year of blogging and before too long I'm hoping to be posting from Vegas (that's Las Vegas, not Wangavegas where we are now).

The Mole

Last night we visited the Mole at the entrance to the Whanganui River. For once the water was really calm, and as you can see it was pretty dark by the time we got there, but there were still quite a few people fishing. On the way back I took a wrong turn onto a gravel road through the industrial area. We passed a body in a bag. Luckily it was just a sheep. But no, I didn't stop to photograph it because it felt like we were in some dodgy B-grade horror movie where some chain-saw-weilding maniac was about to appear out of nowhere. Sometimes having an active imagination is not a good thing.

Seasonal Salon

Every year I lke to make this event. Janet Dunn is a Wellington fashion designer who has worked in theatre in the past, and her creations range from slightly quirky to fabulously unusual. She believes in recreating vintage and second hand clothing and giving them a completely new life.

Tools of Survival

Tonight we went to the opening of 'Tools of Survival' at McNamara Gallery, all works created using 19C processes. Shown here are Aaron Seeto's silver salt photographs on eggs and Matt is standing in front of a couple of Ben Cauchi's ambrotypes. To see more works in the show, check out the McNamara website.
