Victor Berezovsky's exhibition

We went down to Wellington on Tuesday for Victor's opening at Mary Newton gallery. As soon as we walked in we were confronted by a large black image painted directly on the wall. It had real presence and complemented the smaller works on paper. Many of the images were almost symmetrical, but not, which gave them quite an edge. Here are some pix from the opening...

Sexhibition Installation

The show is up and we had a great opening with heaps of people turning up. The venue itself is a bit of a star, after a good clean up! Tao Wells' performance at the opening provided something unexpected - seen here is Tao in action with his video clip of Paris Hilton. In the manager's office, we have work by Sanjay Theodore and Amanda Lawrence. Also in the manager's office are Kylie Foster's paintings and next door are Jenna Tool's penis bugs and 'Heavy Petting' images. The images at top here are Clare McNamara's 'Stick-on fantasy' in the toilet and FOTORABIA's 'Biting the Hand'. We have a heap of great work in the show and a catalogue courtesy of Couper Publishing.

Sexhibition Cabaret

What a night! Whanganui may never be the same again ... The Sexhibition fundraising cabaret was held at The Zone, where we had our very own resident porn stars, Ronnie and Cat Lee. Photographs of attendees cuddled up to the porn stars can be viewed at Sexhibition, upstairs at 81 Guyton St, from the opening at 4pm on Saturday 24th March through till Sunday 1 April when those featured can take home their photos.
Other stars at the cabaret were the gorgeous MC Ava Gunn, the lovely belly dancers, Secret Bones designers modelling their own underwear, the fabulous Felicity Foccacino and the all-female band Hooplah. Not to mention the guests, who were courageous adventurers into the new territory of Sexhibition...

Sexhibition in Whanganui

Sexhibition: a visual conversation about sex opens in Whanganui on 24 March at 4pm, upstairs 81 Guyton St. It's going to be an interesting show with a diverse range of artists and work.
