River Traders Market





After the rain had passed, I went down to the market on Saturday and found lots of people out and about, enjoying some kai, and the general ambience. Getting their hair coloured (temporarily) was very popular with the younger market-goers.

cherry blossom


A truck in the nearby carpark had broken off a small branch of cherry blossom so I took it back to the studio and put it in water. After a few days the blossoms began to wilt but I thought they still looked beautiful.

Gang Patch Bylaw Protest




Yesterday the media descended on Whanganui where there was a protest against the new bylaw banning the wearing of gang patches in the central area of town. Some protesters had made their own patches 'Maunga Kahu Aotearoa' with the Nelson Mandela fist. There was a strong gang and police presence, but the protest was a peaceful one with no arrests made.
