the locks
We visited the locks where we saw this fishing boat pass through. They were flying a pirate flag and even had a resident parrot. One of the crew demonstrated some excellent filleting skills. Hiram M. Chittenden designed the Salmon Ladder when the locks were built from 1911-16. There is a viewing room where you can watch migrating salmon. They were being tagged as they swam through.
