Visiting the privately funded Station Museum of Contemporary Art in Houston, TX, was a rewarding experience. The directors, Jim and Ann Harithas, along with their team of curators, have developed a reputation for creating exhibitions which feature strong social and political content.
Shown here is work by two of the eleven artists in the Fotofest exhibition 'Artifactual Realities'. Top right are a selection of the symbolic 99 Faces of Occupy Wall St, photographed by August Bradley. Below is an installation of collage works by Mel Chin titled 'The Funk and Wag From A-Z' which are created from a complete set of 1954 encyclopedias by Wilfred Funk Inc.
